Product Synopsis and Overview:

Longtime high-fidelity flight simulator producer Just Flight has digitally recreated a high-fidelity Piper Arrow III aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The detailed product specifications and purchase portal can be accessed by clicking here.

Scope and Goal:

The scope of this review is to evaluate the overall quality, in association its degree of fidelity, and the effective utility within the simulation.

The goal of this review is to have a robust review of the product, the product performance, and the Just Flight Piper Arrow III .

I have done extensive, rigorous, and prolonged testing for this review.

The final version tested was 0.7.1

Most testing was done with the Saitek 3D PRO joystick. Final flight model and flight dynamics testing with the latest update version was conducted with the Precision Flight Controls Yoke and Throttle set detailed below.

Testing Specifications:

Notes: 1) All testing and screenshots in this review were taken at full native 4K (UltraHD, UHD) (3840 x 2160) Resolution. 2) All flight testing was conducted in the contiguous (lower 48) states of  United States of America (U.S.A.) here on the terrestrial surface and/or crust of Planet Earth.

Purchase, Download, Installation & Updates:

Purchase, download, and installation were standard without any issues or problems. The $44.99 United Stated Dollar (U.S.D.) price point is right on! Given the several product updates required to get the aircraft systems, flight models, and other problems that needed to be addressed, an external update module with a modern Graphical User Interface (G.U.I.) should made for future products. Is the customer/user expected to redownload the product and install every time they want to use it?

Just Flight Marketing Head Mr. Scott Phillips kindly provided a free presscopy for this review. Thank You Mr. Scott Phillips!!!!!!!

Score: 8/10

Manuals:

The provided manual is very solid and well written with sufficient illustrations and screenshots. Aircraft takeoff performance charts, takeoff and landing charts, center of gravity (CG) charts, and cruise power tables are all absent. The charts and tables for the real aircraft this was modeled from should have been included in the manual.

Score: 8/10

Graphics & Texture Quality:

The overall graphics quality including texture sharpness and clarity at native 4K/Ultra-High-Definition (U.H.D.) resolution are excellent, as expected. In the right lighting and viewpoint angle conditions, the exterior aircraft reflections look phenomenal. Worn cockpit panel textures can easily be replaced with a new panel texture, which is my preference. There are some areas of texture that are in need of improvement such as the rivets on the inner most areas of the wings, as viewed from the pilots seat, look blurry and diffuse (Below).

The plexiglass scratches are overdone (Below).

Score: 9/10

Flight Dynamics & Flight Modeling Quality:

After four or more updates, the flight model and flight dynamics are right on. Slow flight, stalls, and altitude were all modeled spot on. However, the aircraft seems to go nearly vertical and even loops without much effort in various updates. The final version tested was 0.7.1

Score: 9/10

Aircraft Systems Quality:

Again, after several updates the aircraft systems are solid and fully functional with the high-fidelity expectations. The circuit breaker panel was plagued with problems of on initial release and immediate updates. The final version tested was 0.7.1

The overhead air vent is not animated (Below).

Score: 8/10

Recommendation:

I Highly Recommend the HighFidelity Just Flight Piper Arrow III for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This simulation mimics the real aircraft from my personal experience of flying the Piper Arrow from the pilots’ seat. There are a few problems and issues noted in this review, which could be resolved in Another Update. The final version tested was 0.7.1 The $44.99 United Stated Dollar (U.S.D.) price point is right on! The detailed product specifications and purchase portal can be accessed by clicking here.
